We have an industry wide challenge with recruiting and retaining women, especially at the mid-career level. The idea behind She is Welcome Here is to catch the leaks and reenter them into the pipeline. We will tackle this on two fronts: 1. By developing a roadmap for companies who want to create a welcoming environment for women (or men) to return to the industry after a leave of absence. We can normalize this transition through a Returnship that allows time for an employee to reengage in the technical aspects of their career while providing flexibility to re-enter. 2. By developing an online aggregator to connect small to mid-size AEC firms with experienced candidates seeking to reenter the workforce after an extended leave of absence.
